I seriously come here a lot; how can you go wrong with beer and friends?
In these days just after graduation, when the calm has finally come, I have been taking it slow and enjoying everything around me. Including the very grown-in neighborhood I live in. It’s not for very much longer, and where I’m moving is urban jungle (SO. EXCITED.), so I am even more appreciative of this green space.
I love fabric. I am obsessed with motifs, patterns, and great design. I surround myself with graphic pieces that I love, and this quilt I just finished combines many of my favorite bits.
Me again. Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby were on the same night this year. We went out for [delicious] dinner and [amazing] drinks at Leon’s Full Service in Decatur to celebrate. It was fun seeing all the Atlanta peeps (read: wealthy adults and hipster 20-somethings) in their Derby garb; we got to the restaurant just in time for the race on TV. (I had no idea it was only a 2-minute race.) They made my drink wrong the first time, so they brought me a second, corrected, on the house.
Although I LOVE movies, the really great ones, and experiencing new ones at the theater. But I have to admit, TV has gotten great. There are some fantastic, complex, and high-budget shows on right now, and they are amazing. You get so much more character development, complexity, so many story lines. So I admit, I do love TV, right now.
Best shows: Parks & Recreation, Game of Thrones, Girls, Pretty Little Liars, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Dexter, 30 Rock
I also love Vanity Fair.
I’m cheating a bit for these last 100 days… I won’t always be the one who takes the picture. But if I’m not, I’ll be IN it. So there. I can change the rules to this if I want to!
My family came to see me and celebrate my graduation at a little ceremony for the College of Arts and Sciences. My Mom’s cousin Cynthia even came to hang out with us from Colorado!
A friend asked me this week what books I would recommend “everyone” read. So I took to my bookshelves to make the list. My books and trinkets are one of the best bits of my apartment, no matter which apartment, where.
Again, little goodbyes. Today I turned in my keys to the 21st floor and to my office. It was my last day working for Richard in the heritage preservation program, within the history department. The lobby where I waited for two years’ worth of elevators to take me up.
